Spinal Decompression
Experiencing chronic, lower back pain?
Spinal Decompression Therapy consists of a series of sessions that begins with an evaluation to ensure that the patient is a good candidate for spinal decompression. In each session, the patient lies comfortably on the spinal decompression table. Multiple cycles of decompression and relaxation commence, promoting the diffusion of water, oxygen, and nutrient rich fluids into the discs. The patient should begin to experience some pain relief after a few sessions as the water, oxygen, and nutrient rich fluids begin to contribute to the injured discs' healing process. Healing is accomplished by creating negative pressure to ease the disc material into a more optimal location. With degenerated discs, the "no rest" treatment gently stretches the ligaments to provide more room for the nerves. Many patients sleep during their sessions and even feel taller when they get up.
How exactly does non-surgical, spinal decompression work?
This FDA approved technology relieves pain by enlarging the space between the discs. The negative pressure of decompression releases pressure that builds on to the disc and nerves, allowing the herniated and bulging disc to eventually go back into normal position. Decompression is the only treatment that is truly most effective for severe cases of herniation, degeneration, arthritis, stenosis and pressure on the nerve root.
